Try this James Bond Cocktail with a Local Twist
The latest 007 flick, Spectre, has us itching to get our Bond-inspired drink on.
Just like Bond, James Bond, this drink from the fine bartenders at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is strong and sophisticated, with a hint of je-ne-sais-quoi.
In the drink’s case the quoi comes from a local, house-made blend of Lillet Blanc, traditionally an aperitif from Bordeaux. This topical Spectre Vesper, or Mallard Vesper, as it’s called at the hotel’s Mallard Lounge (for $21), is a special mix of sauvignon blanc, a pinch of pinot noir, cinchona bark, orange peel, Cointreau and bitters—a concoction that’s barrel-aged in oak for a week prior to serving. Find the vesper recipe here.
