1. Round We Go

This Calgary home, designed by Paul Lavoie, features a gorgeous light over the dining room table; the circular shape compliments the round table underneath. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to spill in, enhancing the space. Get a full tour of this California-inspired home.

2. Bold as Brass

The dining room of this Vancouver home is furnished with a brass light fixture. Designer Jenna Josephson said one of the biggest challenges when working with brass accents is making sure that it all matches—that means everything from lights to door handles. 3. The Climb

Scott Marko, owner of this Northern B.C. home, knows how to make use of his materials. The ladder that serves as a base for this light fixture was found lying around the house when he first moved in. Bulbs strung on to rope and wrapped around the ladder create the perfect feature light. See more of this Nordic-cool home.

4. Geometric Gem

Lights don’t need to hang over a dining room table to make a statement. This geometric light fits into this modest living room perfectly; its small size doesn’t take away from its interesting shape or contrasting shade. See more of this townhouse designed by Chris Hill.

5. Bright and Bubbly

This home in False Creek (designed by Miguel Brovhn and Julie Miller) features a cluster of Bocci 28 lights. Of the 19 orbs that hang above this kitchen island, three are bright orange—they provide a colourful accent that not only contrasts with the neutral interior, but with the blue-green view of forests and water outside the large window. 6. Stand Out

This light commands attention in this open-concept Calgary bungalow. The connecting bars give it a geometric feel, which contrasts with the round bulbs on the ends. The abstract painting and potted tree complete the stunning dining area. See more of this renovation by MoDA and Nicky Gretzan.
