Room of the Week: Is This the Coolest Pool House Ever?
How designer Dana Peers created a playful space fit for an entire family.
Building an indoor, three-storey waterslide was no easy feat. But that’s exactly why Dana Peers of Urbano Design and Development wanted to take it on: “I knew this was a family that likes to have fun,” says Peers. “I was intrigued by the challenge of it.”
To start, the homeowners had to obtain a permit to build the pool house on a piece of neighbouring property (a process that took nearly a year) and then it was up to Peers to create a space that would merge an adult’s entertainment area with a kid’s play room. As it turns out, custom-built waterslides pair perfectly with vaulted, cathedral-like ceilings, mosaic tiles and elegant wrought-iron chandeliers. Who knew? See more of this Calgary funhouse.
