The Organ Grinder (Bourbon and Amaro Cocktail)
Made with bourbon and aromatic bitters, this cocktail from Cardinale in Calgary is like an Old-Fashioned, but sweeter thanks to the addition of Amaro Nonino, dates and candied orange peel.
1½ oz Buffalo Trace bourbon
½ oz Amaro Nonino
6 dashes Scrappy’s aromatic bitters
1. Place date in a cocktail beaker and cover with aromatic bitters.
2. Add bourbon and Amaro Nonino. Muddle.
3. Add ice and stir. Strain over fresh ice.
4. Shave large orange peel and suppress over the cocktail. Twist and garnish.
