Our 6 Favourite Buys from the 2018 Ikea Catalogue
The Ikea catalogue is here! The Ikea catalogue is here!
I like to think the excitement this office feels when we get our hands on the new Ikea catalogue is equivalent to children of yesteryear, when the Sears Christmas Wish book would come out. Just imagine how organized our lives could be! And so, without further ado, our six favourite things:
1. Ypperlig Sofa-Bed, $799
Hay! The cult-fave Danish furniture brand partnered with Ikea to produce a capsule line, released this fall. And they’ve managed to make the dreaded sofa bed a pretty thing, with simple, pretty legs and soft grey fabric—plus, a spring mattress for a comfy sleep.
Hay again. Yeah, they know what they’re doing.
Design trends for 2018 are coming back to cocooning and comfort, and this new cozy-yet-Scandi design looks like a big hug.
Our physiotherapists say it’s the way to go, so…make it pretty too? This standing desk has two drawers for paper, and it’s constructed from tinted, clear lacquered solid birch.
Tom Dixon! The designer partnered with Ikea with an unusual concept: to create a collection that could easily be hacked, modified, personalized: essentially embracing the Ikea Hackers community. It’s set for release in 2018.
Made of 70-percent recycled plastic and 30-percent renewable wood, the Odger chair is both modern and sustainably designed.
