Our BIG DEAL Contributor is a finalist for the Governor General’s Award!
Michael Harris' The End of Absence has been nominated as one of the four finalists for the Governor General's Award for non-fiction.
Here at WL, we’ve worked closely with Michael Harris. He was the editor of WL Condo for a spell, an editor at WL as well and he’s been writing stories for us like this one on a cool guest house, this one on a luxe Whistler pad or this one on a amazing cliffside abode for a long while. So when we published his new book, The End of Absence earlier this year we were justifiably proud, but a risk of being braggarts we kept it to ourselves. But this week the book was announced as one of the four finalists for the Governor General’s Award for non-fiction and we just couldn’t keep it to ourselves. The book is a treatise (but a page-turning type of treatise) on the online world and how it’s arrival has fundamentally changed our approach to, well, everything. It really is a great read, written by a great author and someone we’re proud to call a colleague and a friend.
