Beautiful bubbles for your beautiful bubble.
Remember the days when washing your hands didnt feel like a life-or-death habit? Me neither. These scrubby times really make us thinkthink about how grossly we behaved before, but also about exactly what we're cleansing our hands with.
Vancouver lifestyle brand Obakki just launched a new line of soaps that have a pretty impressive resume. Theyre made from all-natural ingredients sourced from Africa, and support women entrepreneurs there. Theyre hand-pressed in small batches in Vancouver. And the six hand/face/body soaps bars (read: no waste from a bottle or pump) come in compostable millboard boxes made from 100-percent recycled paper. It's hard to tell what's more exciting: what's inside (shea butter, avocado oil, black clay, activated charcoal) or what's not (palm oils, artificial fragrance or colourants, parabens, sulfates, animal products).
Ive got my eye on the Shea Butter & White Kaolin Soap designed to moisturize, tone and restore sensitive & acne-prone skin (It's scented with grapefruit and sandalwood) and the Argan Oil & Rahassoul Clay Soap crafted to clarify and brighten skin while protecting from the elements (scented with lavender and lemongrass). The other options are Moringa Oil & Rose Clay, Avocado Oil & Glacial Clay, Marula Oil & Black Clay, and Baobab Oil & Activated Charcoal.
On top of supporting folks at home and beyond (Obakki's net profits benefit the Obakki Foundation, which works to provide clean water, food security, health, education, and economic initiatives in Africa), the soaps are prettymuted natural colours give them a reserved elegance fit for any bathroom. Theyre a good, clean pick for treating yourself and doing a little extra good. Bring on the bubbles.
