It’s patio season, and whether you’re doing it at one of the many tantalizing restaurant patios across our Western Canadian cities or perhaps hosting on your very own—one thing is for sure: you’ll want to be known for having good taste. Great, even.

All handcrafted in Vancouver, these bespoke designs will impress your guests as you serve up bites, charcuterie or a killer glass of homemade iced tea. Think of them as much as conversation pieces as the night’s events themselves.

Fire Tie Dyed Glass glasses by Maria Ida Designs ($88)

If you want truly bespoke, Maria Ida is the designer to give it to you. Handmade in Vancouver, these blown-glass cups are individually fired using swirls of red, orange and yellow that imitate both the art of tie-dye and the very element that makes them. These fiery-looking vessels measure about five-to-six inches tall (but we can’t be precise as no two are the same). Bottoms up!

Created by Heather Dahl at Dahlhaus Art Studio, these beautiful fluted ceramic pitchers are your call to throw together a drab of sangria, lemonade or an infused water concoction. “Even flower arrangements,” writes the designer. Each piece is wheel-thrown and hand carved with different widths of carved lines, and are nine-and-a-half inches tall.

Vessel Pitcher by GoodBeast ($100)

Not just hot air—these mouth-blown pitchers are inspired by archeological digs, and it shows. Each pitcher is subtly different from the last as they are “all made one at a time,” and come in clay, porcelain or glass. Vancouver-based designer, GoodBeast, makes these ancient-looking articles.

Steelwood Deadly Grain Pizza Serving Tray ($280)

Designed by father-daughter woodworking duo Alexis Dodd and Fred Masaro, the Steelwood deadly grain pizza serving tray is made of reclaimed, quarter-sawn oak. Read: it’s heavy and it’s sturdy. Repurposing antique wood for their designs, Steelwood brings out the imperfections in each piece of wood, nodding to its singular history.

Sea To Sky Wood Co’s Walnut & Coffee Beans charcuterie board ($325)

Okay, we can all agree that resin-river charcuterie boards are definitely not slept on, but these made-to-order walnut live-edge pieces will really wake you up. A pearl epoxy river base flows through the wood, encasing coffee beans throughout. Sea to Sky Wood Company’s Colby King says his inspiration comes from “the refreshing beauty of our forests and…trees.”
