For his latest collection, the designer looks at the influence of shifting tides in the intertidal zone.
One of the greatest furniture designers to come out of the West Coast is surely Brent Comber—his Alder cube benches and Drum stools inspired a whole generation of designers to celebrate both lesser-known woods and the beauty of their imperfection.
For his new Intertidal collection, Comber looks at the influence of shifting tides in the intertidal zone, working with coastal basalt rock and ice glass (with cracked, criss-crossed ice patterns) this time. The designs are at once moody and beautiful, and they’re bound to influence a new set of furniture designers.
