Western Living celebrated its 6th annual Designers of the Year Awards on September 12 with 500 designers, architects, local celebrities, media and more at Vancouver’s spectacular London Aviation Centre

This year saw designers’ achievements acknowledged in 7 key catergories: architecture, eco, fashion, furniture, industrial, interiors and landscape. Western Living magazine also continued to pay tribute to the legendary Arthur Erickson with the allocation of the Arthur Erickson Memorial Award. This year also marked the inaugural Robert Ledingham Memorial Award.Guests dined on beautiful canapés presented by Forage catering, browsed the luxurious items generously donated to the silent auction by our sponsors and sampled some of BC’s most illustrious wines.Western Living’s Editor-in-Chief Anicka Quin presented the awards alongside MC Dawn Chubai to the Designers of the Year and Ones to Watch. The ceremony itself included inspirational speeches from judges Kelly Deck and Sandrine Leujeune as well as a note from Western Living’s publisher Lori Chalmers.
