Meg Hübert landed a coveted contract with lighting giant Bocci just out of art school, so it should come as no surprise that the ceramicist is a master of light. The Vancouver-based artist often works with translucent clay when sculpting her fixtures, which creates a trompe l’oeil effect. “[They’re] evocative of warm liquid when illuminated, and mimic stone, shell or sand when unlit,” Hübert writes. The multi-textural Eclipse sconce ($700) features glazed panels in muted pastel tones that are mounted over a hardwired light, giving the appearance of a glowing reef or eclipsing planets.
