A statement pegboard and hard-working storage turn this mud room into the home’s smartest landing strip.
This out-of-sight mud room features one of the home’s most intentional moments: designer Nancy Surby of Nako Design collaborated with Waygood’s Kitchens to create a statement pegboard that acts as a fresh approach to a drop zone. The recessed pegs, crafted from solid wood and stained to match the silver elm trim that’s found in the nearby kitchen, are adjustable to accommodate the evolving needs of the family. Durable tile flooring can take on the slushiest of Edmonton winters, while a custom boot storage cabinet and coat closet handle bulky outerwear, with a bench in between to comfortably peel off shoes before unloading the groceries.
