This lovely kitchen from designer Lauren Ritz offers an exercise in both contrasts and unobstructed views, everything is considered to allow the millwork and textured stone to be the stars of the show. The cooktop on the island features a downdraft vent so the overhead can be clear of cabinets (the team decided against overhead pendants for the same reason, it’s a clear view to that textured stone and millwork). Everyday-use dishes are exposed on a floating shelf above the main counter, and the pantry is just a walk around the corner where all can be out of sight but still readily accessible, including an impressive full-height wine fridge, because this is a kitchen you want to spend time in.
