Part of an overarching design that honours this home’s quirky modernist roots while reflecting the new owners’ preference for soft, organic forms and colours, the Acropolis House laundry room demonstrates real consideration for ease of usability and ergonomics. Designers Chad Falkenberg, Kelly Reynolds and Marina Hauner of Falken Reynolds created a space that makes the weekly chore that much more manageable: an elevated washer and dryer sit at a comfortable working height, and a pull-out shelf simplifies loading and unloading while also providing additional space for folding. Plus, a sink cover offers even more surface area to stack and sort laundry, along with a drying closet for wet gear or hang drying and, to ensure all family members are cared for, functional built-in dog dishes.
