Make the most of your ceiling space.
Designer: Atmosphere Interior DesignLocation: Saskatoon, SaskatchewanThe Look: Classic DramaLook up—way up. Though there’s plenty of drama to be found in this brown-and-camel Saskatoon den, designed by Curtis Elmy and Trevor Ciona of Atmosphere Interior Design (winners in this year’s Designers of the Year competition), the crowning glory is certainly the ceiling. Eight-inch-deep coffers—built from MDF and painted white to pop against the grey grasscloth backdrop—run on a diagonal grid. “We installed it at that angle partly because the room is longer than it is wide,” says Elmy, “but mostly because it’s just nice to mix things up.”
