Vancouver-based designers elevate West Coast casual with French-inspired flair in new collection of throw pillows.
We first spotted Vancouver-based JOUE Design in the pages of our sister publication, Vancouver Magazine, and fell immediately in love with the line’s gorgeous throw pillows. So when we heard its new Spring/Summer collection was coming to MINT Interiors, we popped by to see them in all their vivid, watercoloured glory.Printed with original watercolours by co-founders and designers, Alison Kent and Cindy Yu, the line features Zoe, a collection of brilliant blue prints reminiscent of the dandelion fields typical throughout the south of France—a major site of inspo for the designer duo—and Colette, a more abstract combination of equally vibrant blues and greens that take after Kent’s expansive collection of Pacific beach glass. The best part? Each pillow is made with 100% cotton linen (with a decidedly glam metallic linen backing) and designed and handcrafted in Canada. Oh, and they look right at home in Vancouver’s MINT Interiors, where they’ll be available exclusively this spring and summer.
