A powder room doesn’t always get a dramatic entrance, but this one demands it. Instead of mere utility, a place guests can duck into, do a quick mirror check, wash their hands and get back to the party, Pure Designs principal Ami McKay had something more memorable in mind. She carved out a dusty-rose vestibule with an asymmetrical arch that creates both privacy and a genuine sense of arrival. Beyond it, the compact room becomes a chromatic surprise: those dusty rose tiles wrap the upper walls and ceiling, olive-toned speckled surfaces ground the lower half and crisp white fixtures cut through the richness. Curves repeat throughout, from the arched mirror edge to the crescent-detailed vanity door, pulling the whole room into one quietly dramatic arc.

A mid-construction pivot turned the originally planned full bathroom into a powder room paired with a discreet mechanical closet, but the shift only strengthened the room’s character. What could have been a utilitarian corner now feels like a delightful, intimate detour, an intentional, colour-drenched pause carved out of a busy household; a small moment to catch your breath before you rejoin the party.
