Whew.

It’s been several months of tough work over here at Western Living HQ—but that’s always the case after entries close for our annual Designers of the Year competition. We’re faced with the monumental (albeit very fun) task of digging through hundreds of amazing entries and liasing with our incredible all-star judging panels to narrow down each category to the top contenders.

But that hard work is done, and now we get to kick back and share an incredible list of Western Canadian design talent with the world.

Each of these finalists has a shot at the big Designer of the Year title in one of eight categories, but while we wait for the judges to finish their scorecards, we’re thrilled to invite other design-lovers to join us in congratulating all of these amazing nominees. Winners will be announced in early September online, and in the pages of our highly coveted September print issue.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter our heated 16th annual competition. Every year, we’re blown away by the talent in every category, and we’re honoured to be a part of a world-class design community.We’re proud to celebrate you all.
