Louis Duncan-He and Vy Tran of Louis Duncan-He Designs were tasked with transforming a stark white canvas into a vibrant space that better reflects the homeowner’s love of eclectic art and culture. The open-concept living room of this two-floor Vibrant Global Penthouse project in Calgary best encapsulates that vision thanks to striking details like a large earth-tone mural, eye-catching millwork surrounding the television and a pillar transformed into a design statement (it’s now a stunning shade of burgundy).

The contrasting textures and colour blocking in the furniture add to the sense of whimsy; green velvet lounge chairs, ebony coffee tables, white pendant lights that seem to float in mid-air—this bold space at once feels cozy and as elegant as an art gallery.
