“Great design should have confidence that it can emerge up and out of challenges,” says Clinton Cuddington, one-half of design team Measured Architecture. And when faced with an awkward angular bathroom layout while working on a recent Vancouver restoration, Cuddington proved his theory to be true. Above a show-stopping Victorian marble sink and glazed emerald green-tiles, he installed cut-to-fit mirrors to create the illusion of space and distract from the nooks and crannies—a challenge transformed into an opportunity for beauty.
