Calgary's Home and Garden Show, occurring between Feb 25 and 28 has all the expert advice, exhibitions and even personal consultations to help you hit the newly cultivated ground running.
In the new year, we all want to make those resolutions happen. But when you’ve got big goals in mind—home improvement, renovations or landscaping—you sometimes need some expert advice to help you actually follow through. Luckily, at the Calgary Home and Garden Show, there’ll be presentations from leading authorities on the topics of raising the value of your home through outdoor renovations, being environmentally friendly with your renos, and adopting a DIY approach to home decor. To make things simple, we’ve chosen the five highlights we feel you can’t miss. Here’s hoping it’s just what you need to get that big project done.
Kitchens and bathrooms have always been the go-to renovations when it comes to increasing your property value, but times are quickly changing. Speaking at the home and garden stage on Saturday, February 27 at 2:30, Carson Arthur, host of HGTV’s Critical Listing and star of HGTV Canada’s new series, Home to Win, will explain why improving the outside of your home is better for your wallet and the environment.
As one the stars on HGTV’s Timber Kings, André Chevigny has become well-known for his tough attitude and dedication to his custom-built, beautifully crafted log homes. Apart from his ultra-Canadian, rugged appeal, this master craftsman has many useful tips on building quality homes with natural elements. Catch Chevigny at the Home and Garden Stage on Friday, February 26 at 6pm or Saturday, February 27 at noon.
Think of it as designer speed dating. Bring along your paint swatches and flooring samples for a ten-minute complimentary design consultation featuring an interior decorating expert, a professional landscaper and a certified contractor. It’s an excellent starting point for your next home reno.
TV host, lifestyle expert, and DIY enthusiast Leigh-Ann Perrault is no stranger to these types of presentations, and is sure to inspire those eager home decorators to accomplish their dreams on a budget. Check her out at the Home and Garden stage on Saturday at 1:30 and on Sunday at 1.
