The exhibits and speakers (Bryan Baeumler! The DIY Mommy!) we can't wait to see at this month's Edmonton Renovation Show.
Whether your reno is big, small or even on wheels, the Edmonton Renovation Show is at your service! From January 26 to 28, local DIY-ers and small-screen celebrities alike will gather at the Edmonton Expo Centre to offer their tips, tricks and trade secrets.
Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27Whether you’re a Leave it to Bryan loyalist or a Canada’s Handyman Challenge connoisseur, you’ve probably already invited HGTV celebrity Bryan Baeumler into your home. From building a deck to inspecting a bathtub fitting, much of his handyman life is spent in the spotlight…but what’s a home renovation really like? See Baeumler minus the camera and crew as he talks about the realities of renovation, which often involve last-minute changes, unexpected costs and failed deadlines. Hammer amateurs (“hammateurs,” if you will) and millwork masters alike will have something to learn from his talk, “Renovation Realities with Bryan.”
Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27This matriarch knows her macramé, mason jars, and more! Christina Dennis recently renovated (more like transformed!) a 1993 Vanguard fifth-wheel into a bright, modern family haven. At her Main Stage presentation, you’ll learn everything from simple fixes (spray painting brass cabinet pulls) to renovation game-changers (using wallpaper to create a faux barn wood feature wall). Attendees will also be able to peek in on Dennis’s renovated RV, as well as two other mobile renewals.
Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28The Tricks of the Trade feature offers guests the chance to get one-on-one advice from local industry professionals. Have you ever fallen in love with an outdated paint colour or a unique (but comfy!) sofa? Interior design consultant Jennifer Woch will teach you how to design a space according to your needs and personalities, not just the latest trends. Has a price tag or an eco-footprint ever stopped you from renovating? Ask builder Josh Marchand of Marchand Construction how renovations can be both affordable and green.https://www.instagram.com/p/z0MTEpjjJD/?taken-by=homereuseables
Saturday, January 27David Bruns and Sherry Galan are ready to reuse, recycle and renovate! The local couple buys “experienced” building materials and transforms them into one-of-a-kind homewares. Check out their collection of antique trim and unique door knockers, all salvaged from demolition sites and then catch them at the Renovation Show for their best tips on how to give old materials new life. Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28Let Rosalyn Lazaruk of Wicket Blue Interiors take you on a journey through the ages while keeping it cool and contemporary. This hands-on showcase experience, presented by WL, will invite guests into some of Lazaruk’s most runway-worthy “homes.” Get inspired by her love of vintage, mid-century design and flare for mixing patterns.
