You’re Invited: Our 2026 Western Living Designers of the Year Awards Party!
The holiday event is in its 20th year, with designers decking out the historic Cecil Green Park House in inspiring Christmas decor.
In our long-deadline magazine world, we’ve been planning for Christmas since the heat of July—so we’re all too ready to get into the spirit by the time November rolls around.
Thankfully Homes for the Holidays is right there with us this weekend. A handful of designers will be transforming the rooms in Cecil Green Park House to everything holiday, from elegant tablescapes to gorgeous room vignettes — perfect for to inspire guests to rethink their own homes.
This year, you’ll see some Western Living award-winners in the mix, too: our 2023 Designers of the Year winners Knight Varga are donating their talent to one of the spaces this year (you’ll also spot a cabin decked out for the holidays by the team in our latest issue!). “Homes For The Holidays brings together everything we love: design, creativity, and the power to make a difference,” says designer Trish Knight. “It’s a privilege to use our talents in a way that directly supports women and children through the YWCA’s housing action fund. For us, it’s not just about creating beautiful spaces—it’s about creating real impact.”
And you’ll find many more WL regulars in the mix: Daniel Meloché Design, Formwerks Interiors, Madeline Design Group and more.
The event kicks off with a Designer Happy Hour on Friday, November 14 from 5 to 7 pm, and continues this weekend from 11 am to 5 pm—with either a “flexible entry/skip the line” ticket (show up any time) or a fixed window ticket (a two-hour time slot). A self-guided tour takes about an hour and a half, including the Terrace of Trees to admire designer-styled evergreens, a Boutique Boulevard to shop for charming ornaments. Find more about tickets here.
All proceeds support the YWCA Vancouver—a warm way to kick off the season indeed.
