When you’re sitting at a wall-to-wall gold tablescape in CBC Studios and the former Whitecaps captain Jay DeMerit is your DJ, you know you’re in for a good night.Monday evening 150 guests came out for Vancouver’s Monogram Dinner by Design Gala Dinner to sip endless cocktails and sample The Savoury Chef‘s creatively plated multi-course menu—all this around 16 designer tablescapes as part of Western Living Design Week.

Style director Crystal Carson welcomed Toronto designer and HGTV personality Tommy Smythe to Monogram Dinner by Design. The event has turned into a national event with celebrations in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.

Alexis LaBonte of Design Lab Interiors created an entirely original bird’s nest tablescape inspired by the Beijing National Stadium.
Providing the beats at the Dinner By Design bash was former Whitecaps FC captain Jay DeMerit. DeMerit and his partner Jeff McConnell introduced his handcrafted vintage suitcase stereos.
Medina Design House‘s Ivan Medina and Erica Schmidt set their designer table for 20, the largest setting at the posh party.
Twenty One Two Designs‘ Amanda Evans luxe ‘Crazy In Love’ room was inspired by the book 50 Shades of Grey.
Stephanie Brown‘s Marakesh Modern table drew the attention of partygoers.

Insight Design Group‘s interior designer Jessica Lowes created a table that incorporated high art with high style.
