In this Burnaby home, Jacklyn Pett created a monochrome office that deserves to be seen in every Zoom call. The desk and chair from Four Hands sit in front of brownstone walls that make the space feel rich and warm, like a hug. “You’d never dream of blurring your background,” says the designer. You don’t need a dedicated office space in order to get your job done, as evidenced by this living room. The team at Twobytwo Architecture Studio created zones for relaxation, entertaining and work—the latter complete with a vintage desk and Artemide Tolomeo lamp. Study Space

If we had this workspace growing up, our grades would have been a lot better! Designer Allison Holden-Pope of One Seed Architecture and Interiors wanted to give each of the homeowners’ daughters a place that “felt special.” With this custom wood-panelled desk area, we’d say she exceeded expectations. Play School

Designer Annie Jomphe injected a ton of fun elements into this jungle-gym-cum-bedroom, but that doesn’t mean it’s all play and no work. The desks, complete with puzzle piece drawer pulls, were placed close to the small window so that the kids can do their homework in natural light—which is said to improve focus.
