Getting work done is easy in these beautiful and functional spaces.
No matter how old we get, September will always make us think of buying new stationery and getting back into the productivity zone. And that means it’s always going to inspire us to makeover our home offices, too. That’s why we’ve rounded up six more gorgeous workspaces for your viewing pleasure.
In this Burnaby home, Jacklyn Pett created a monochrome office that deserves to be seen in every Zoom call. The desk and chair from Four Hands sit in front of brownstone walls that make the space feel rich and warm, like a hug. “You’d never dream of blurring your background,” says the designer. You don’t need a dedicated office space in order to get your job done, as evidenced by this living room. The team at Twobytwo Architecture Studio created zones for relaxation, entertaining and work—the latter complete with a vintage desk and Artemide Tolomeo lamp. If we had this workspace growing up, our grades would have been a lot better! Designer Allison Holden-Pope of One Seed Architecture and Interiors wanted to give each of the homeowners’ daughters a place that “felt special.” With this custom wood-panelled desk area, we’d say she exceeded expectations. See the before and after photos from this home reno.
Designer Annie Jomphe injected a ton of fun elements into this jungle-gym-cum-bedroom, but that doesn’t mean it’s all play and no work. The desks, complete with puzzle piece drawer pulls, were placed close to the small window so that the kids can do their homework in natural light—which is said to improve focus. Check out the rest of this innovative space.
In case you were looking for more ways to incorporate earthy reds into your home…
Ben Leavitt of PlaidFox Studio created a warm and feminine office for homeowner Mina by painting the cabinetry with Benjamin Moore’s red-brown Hickory Stick and complementing it with a rose-coloured marble desktop and curvy, floral-patterned chair. Do you get annoyed when unsightly cords poke out from behind a desk? Us too! And that’s why we’re absolutely smitten with this workspace. Jocelyn Ross Studioworks managed to conceal alllllll the clunky office equipment in a hidden cabinet behind the bookshelf. Find out why else this space is a WL Design 25 winner.
