Design lovers who know, know: this isn't your average Ikea drop.
Ikea is constantly debuting new products that we love, but when a new Stockholm collection is announced, we drop everything and spring to our fave Swedish furniture store. It’s a great excuse for a ligonberry sundae, of course, but it also means that the brand is introducing a whole new batch of designer-led pieces to the showroom floor.
The Stockholm line has been around for 40 years, but the 2025 collection is actually only the eighth wave of new products. Though Scandinavian minimalism has it’s impact on all that Ikea does, it’s a particularly potent influence on these designs—Stockholm pieces explicitly celebrate Scandi craftsmanship and natural materials, as interpreted by creative director Karin Gustaavson and designers like Ola Wihlborg, Nike Karlsson and Paulin Machado.
The 2025 drop features 96 pieces (the largest Stockholm collection ever!), including plenty that would look perfectly at home in a more high-end brand’s showroom. Despite the designer cred, though, the Stockholm collection is available at classic Ikea prices—which means a few more dollars in your pocket for one more sundae before you toss your blue bags in the car and head home. Here are the picks we’re coveting on first look.
The Stockholm 2025 sofa (from $1,390) can be customized to your length of choice. Use it as a love seat or slip in a middle piece to add even more seating.
The texture on the doors of this cabinet ($499) gives a simple storage unit plenty of character and warmth.
The epitome of Scandi-modern design, this Stockholm 2025 table ($799) is so pretty in oak veneer. We love these chairs too, which put a modern twist on a classic Carl Hansen Wishbone design, but they don’t appear to be on the website as of writing this—stay tuned because whenever they do go up, they’ll sell fast.
The low-slung bouclé-lite armchair ($349) is going to be an instant classic—the perfect piece for that awkward corner. With its petite scale, it would even be a good one to pop in the kids’ room.
The colours in this graphic, flatwoven rug ($399) are ’70s-cool and perfectly on-trend. It’s made from real wool, which makes it a great, hardy pick for homes with pets or kids.
If you’re the sort of person who enjoys wine in a tumbler, these are for you: super-thin, super-lightweight, effortlessly elegant glasses ($20 for a four pack).
The whimsical footstool ($299) is covered in a jacquard-woven cotton, embroidered with a pattern inspired by the wilderness. (Bonus: it’s washable!)
The Stockholm 2025 collection is available now. Shop the collection here.
