It's back as of August 15.
Ah, the 75-year tradition carries on: the new Ikea catalogue is set to land on doorsteps on August 15, when we flip through and imagine just how organized our lives would be if we only had one more Besta and a few more Pudda baskets. We got a sneak peek at this year’s collection—some revisits in a new light, some hot off the designer’s floor—all guaranteed to bring Swedish order to your life.
Part living wall, part industrial-chic, très Brooklyn, as they say in Paris.
Yes, the sheepskin nearby really adds to the warmth of this piece—but the soft glow from the paper shade, paired with the light wood dowling legs, makes it perfect for a cozy fall afternoon.
Technically this is about the Landskrona sofa ($819), which is a new classic—but Ikea’s tapped into the zeitgeist, and brought in that rich, hunter green which is going to be hot hot hot this fall. As hot as this accessories pic from the catalogue.
To celebrate its 75th year, Ikea put its designers on digging through their archives, and have reproduced a handful of classic designs for their new Gratulera line coming in September and October. Winner for most adorable goes to the Ikea PS storage bench from 1995 (price on request, below) and closely behind, 1983’s Raane armchair, above ($69.99)—a chair designed to be comfortable without filling or fabric.
