There's a new Italian delicatessen in town.
Little Italy invades Chinatown! Situated on the corner of Main Street and East Georgia (steps away from Tosi and Pazzo Chow), Vancouver’s newest Italian delicatessen, Dalina, will open its doors this Saturday, December 3. In addition to their retail store, where you’ll find a hand-picked selection of groceries and local goods (think candles, greetings cards and coasters), Dalina is equipped with a kitchen and espresso bar, where you can eat in or take that Joe to go.We got a sneak peek of the 3,000-square-foot shop—plus a taste of the hand-crafted Italian dishes Dalina will be serving. Let’s just say we wish our office was a little closer to the new café, which is sure to be a hotspot for the local grab-and-go lunch crowd. A look inside Dalina’s 3,000-square-foot store in Chinatown. Copper pots are suspended above the kitchen, adding a touch of whimsy to the modern space. (The gorgeous light installation was designed by our 2016 Industrial Designer of the Year, Matthew McCormick The kitchen’s stocked with Mediterranean delicacies, ready-made pastas, sandwiches and pastries. To Die For, Two Rivers Speciality Meats, Kits Kitchen, Lisa Lou’s Chocolate Bar and other local suppliers were on hand to give guests a taste of what Dalina has to offer. Going to the bar will become part of your morning routine: Dalina has milk (including soy and almond), cream and water on tap. Foodies will appreciate their robust selection of artisan oils and vinegars.
