While I’ve dropped the ombre hair (for now, at least) I’m still totally hooked on ombre colour palettes for home design. Calgary designer Amanda Hamilton has gorgeous ombre metallic pillows, 18Karat has these sweet bowls, and Ikea is about to launch a collection of their own: paper decorations in glorious teal and white ombre. I once spent a weekend with friends trying to hand-create these paper pinwheel decorations for a party we were throwing (and they later made their way to our office, where they hung for years). Next time, I’ll be raiding Ikea’s new paper collection for these teal beauties (bring back the ’90s teal!)—at $4.99 for a small, and $7.99 for a large one, I’ll be ombre-pinwheel-party ready in no time.FÄRGTON hanging decoration, $7.99 100cm; $4.99 50cm, available as of June 1 at Ikea stores, ikea.ca.
