At first blush you might think Villa Eyrie is just a beautiful destination, but thats only part of the story.
It's hard to satisfy everyone on a bachelor or bachelorette getaway, and that's the beauty of Villa Eyrie. The Italian-styled mountainside resort on Vancouver Island was designed to offer every amenity your group needs, in a beautiful setting, whether you prefer to relax and do nothing, or take action and do everything.
An Accessible Getaway at a Luxury Villa
With the inlet views and surrounding forest, it looks spectacularly remote, but getting here is going to be easy, as the resort is only a half-hour drive from Victoria, but there'sthe helicopter pad too if your crew wants to travel as the crow flies. The resort itself is comprised of four luxury villas (that you can book out for private events), an on-site restaurant that looks out onto the whole Saanich Inlet and a full-service Tuscan Spa for facials, massages and beauty treatments. Not only does the restaurant have a legendary wine cellar and host special wine-tasting dinners and chef tasting menus, but there are winery tours available to sample the Cowichan Valley's local wines year-round.
The Motorsport Circuit
The resort is closely tied to (and a 30 minutes drive from) the adrenaline-lover's Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit. This world-class circuit is a veritable playground for car enthusiasts who have always wanted to race around the track in a high-performance machine. There are multiple packages that offer lessons for all levels for individuals and groups, including a Taste of Germany, Tour d’Italia or Classic Car tours.
Hiking and Local Trails
The resort's surrounding landscape is packed with hiking opportunities to explore Vancouver Island's mountain views, protected forests, waterfalls, caves, rivers, coasts and tree groves for all levels. The historic wooden rail Kinsol Trestle Bridge is just one of the local highlights our Villa Eyrie concierge team can guide you to when helping you plan your hike.
Fishing Aplenty
November and December signal peak fish season on the Island. White water is raging down the local rivers and teeming with fish. And different species of salmon will be spawning late into the fall and filling rivers as they climb upstream, which is a spectacular sight to see first-hand. Villa Eyrie also has a partnership with the esteemed Cowichan River Lodge, and are able to build a fully catered and customizable fishing experience that takes you to the local rivers, the nearby Pacific, or to the Gulf Islands.
Get Up Close to Whales and the Ocean Wildlife
Vancouver Island is a bountiful playground for all different types of whales, seals, sea lions and porpoises. Head out on a half-day or full-day tour of the Salish Sea to meet our marine neighbours.
Outdoor Target Shooting Experience
Introduce a little fun target practise into your group trip with a half-day experience at the 200-acre Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association, just down the road from the resort. You'll get a firearms safety lesson and four full rounds of basic clay pigeon trap shooting, with shotguns, targets, ammunition, cool looking safety gear (orange is everyone's colour), plus you'll be treated to hot beverages, a full lunch from Villa Eyrie's catering menu and shuttle service to and from the resort.
Zip-Lining, Bungee and More Aerial Delights
For those groups who like to get in a bit of thrill-seeking after breakfast, Villa Eyrie is close to WildPlay Element Park Victoria, Adrena Line Zipline Adventures and WildPlay Element Nanaimo that offer everything from canopy ziplines to sky-high obstacle courses to an 150-foot bungee jump.
Sea Kayaking
It may be a bit brisk for Stand-Up Paddleboarding this time of year, but exploring the waters around Mill Bay by sea kayak (an otter or seal sighting is practically guaranteed) is a treat year-round. Your party can hire kayaks or sign up for a full tour or private lesson.
