One to Watch: Wronko Woods at IDS Vancouver’s Studio North

Carson Wronko combines his passion for minimalism and the Canadian wilderness in his new collection.

When it came time to photograph his furniture, Alberta designer Carson Wronko went to the snow-capped Canadian wilderness. “It seemed right to take the furniture back to its primary source of inspiration,” says the Wronko Woods designer. The great outdoors and his love for minimalistic art are two fonts he draws from constantly in his designs.

Before he began designing furniture as a student at the University of Victoria, Wonko remembers how his father built their family home—everything from the framework to the furniture—and the spark that instilled in him at an early age. This attitude of working with your hands persisted, leading the designer to create his studio Wronko Woods in 2016.
