Locally made coloured concrete stools bring an affordable hit of colour to the patio.

I popped into Sumer Singh’s new design shop, Kartār, when I was in Calgary a couple of weeks ago, and it’s quickly becoming one of my favourite destinations in the city. Singh has curated a great collection of pieces from local designers—including gorgeous rolling pins made from recycled skateboards by Adrian Martinus—alongside his own works. He’s recently introduced these simple concrete stools to his house line, durable for both indoors and out and produced in a half-dozen colours made from integral mineral-based pigments. At just $90, they’re affordable too—and the perfect perch for a celebrate-Spring cocktail on the patio.Concrete stools, $90, available in Calgary at Kartaār, kartar.comConcrete stools kartar
