Want to design a one-of-a-kind home bar? Start with an optical illusion. “The tapered shape of the island creates a floating effect,” explains designer Jane Dabrowski from Paramax Homes. Designed with entertaining in mind, this dramatic piece looks right at home amidst a bold materials palette: rift-cut ebony cabinets contrast with the white polished porcelain tiles beneath; above the island, stunning suspension lamps add a little hint of glam, echoing the gold accents that are intermingled with black Ann Sacks backsplash tiles.
