With a background in both engineering and architecture, it’s no surprise that M’Beth Schoenfeld of Studiotudio creates designs that function perfectly—that’s her analytical mind at work. But these whimsical Noodle Knobs ($20 each) demonstrate a sense of play with the practical here—ideal for anyone who wants to introduce a moment of levity in the kitchen.

Crafted from recycled clay, Noodle Knobs allow you to open a cabinet door with a single finger inserted into one end (great for keeping cabinet faces clean), and the glazing makes them stain-proof and durable. And, as the artist writes in her entry, such a design seemed inevitable: “I frequently refer to my design process as ‘noodling around.’”
