GWC was founded by the late Gordon Wilson, and his visionary legacy lives on in the capable hands of his son, Blair Wilson, who became president of GWC in 2015. This continuity of leadership ensures the long-term commitment and service that comes with a GWC build. The company has grown into a multigenerational firm, with decades of experience, trusted by clients, architects and designers alike to bring a vision to life.

“We are here not only for the original construction, but also for a lifetime to care for and service the homes we build,” says Wilson. “We are now renovating and updating some of the homes I worked on as a carpenter apprentice some 34 years ago. And the legacy continues: my son is a carpentry apprentice who is working on current projects as well, and my daughter is working in accounting administration in our office.

“The long-term positive relationships we have with our clients is the foundation of our business. We don’t just build houses; we build trust and relationships.”

GWC specializes in custom builds: consequently it has a focused expertise in its craft. An employer direct labour force allows GWC to maintain a high level of quality and service, using in-house project supervisors, foremen, carpenters and apprentices to manage completing every phase of the project, from demolition to occupancy. “Most of our employees and supervisors have been with the company for over 10 years, and some up to 33 years,” notes Wilson. This employee base also allows GWC to provide knowledgeable post construction maintenance and services for its clients and their families for decades after completion.
