With the 8th Annual Deighton Cup around the corner, a two-time Cocktail Jockey winner lets us in on his secret.
The high-stakes horse races this weekend are enticing enough, but we’re also excited for the unique libations that will come out of the event’s 4th annual Cocktail Jockey Mixology Competition. Top talent from some of Vancouver’s best restaurants will be competing, including bartenders and mixologists from L’Abattoir, Juniper and Royal Dinette. All 14 competitors will be going for the Boothby Julep trophy, along with a $1,000 prize—and most importantly—bragging rights. To get you ready for the event, we want to share the secret recipe behind Sean McGuigan’s award-winning Monkey’s Cocktail. McGuigan has already won this competition twice, so to keep this year’s competition fair, he’s been promoted to be one of the three judges. (Yes, the student has now become the teacher!) Find the recipe for his refreshing summer tipple, the Monkey’s Cocktail, here on our WL Recipe Finder.
