The Aiming for Legendary designer introduces his newest collection of handcrafted rugs.
“Hello Canada!” These were the words spoken by designer Thibault Van Renne as he introduced his newest collection of handcrafted rugs to a crowd of designers and architects at Salari Fine Carpet Collections’ second anniversary party—the event also marked the Belgian designer’s first trip to Canada.Van Renne is well-known for his timeless aesthetic and his newest collection, Elements (aptly named because the patterns, colours and fabrics are inspired by a fusion of cultural styles), is no exception. Produced entirely by hand—each rug is knotted, stretched and carved by artisans in the Jaipur region of India—from high-quality silk and wool, Van Renne’s carpets take approximately seven months to complete and are available exclusively at Salari Fine Carpet Collections (285 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver).Click image to see photos of the “Aiming for Legendary” designer at the November 5 launch party.
