Toronto-based brand Kotn, known for their ethically-produced cotton basics, just expanded into homeware. Their new collection launched this week and includes two bedding sets, a bedspread, a quilted comforter, and tea towels. As someone who now exclusively wears the brand’s fitted turtleneck in a different colour every day of the winter season, I couldn’t be more excited that their ultra-soft wardrobe staples are now bedding, too. 

Staying true to the brand's roots of creating ethically-made everyday essentials, the new collection is designed to be lived in for years to come. In crafting this collection, the team wanted to evoke a sense of home. And given that we’re spending so much time indoors, curling up and celebrating the comforts of home feels more fitting than ever. 

Like their other essentials, the bed sets are designed in Canada and made in Egypt using 100 percent Egyptian cotton that is sourced straight from the farmers in the Nile River Delta. As a certified B Corp founded in 2015, Kotn ensures fair wages and treatment throughout their supply chain. 

Items in the collection like the quilted comforter and woven Akhmim bedspread were created using ancient Egyptian craft techniques and philosophies that have been passed down by generations for hundreds of years.

For the upcoming Black Friday weekend, for the fourth year in a row, Kotn will be donating 100 per cent of profits made between Black Friday and Cyber Monday to build three primary schools in the Nile Delta and Faiyum, Egypt, where the cotton used for their collections is grown.
