An earthy palette and soft-on-the-planet design makes for a gorgeous Vancouver restaurant.
Photos by Nicole Robertson
Inspired by California’s sun-kissed and low-key lifestyle, Megan Kirkpatrick and Jillian Properzi of Jute Design have given Dovetail Restaurant a West Coast vibe and inherent sense of warmth that’s grounded in its earth-tone palette and highlighted by the natural woven textures of the banquette and booth upholstery, terracotta wall tiles from Zia Tile and natural stone bar top and custom table.
That earthy palette also happens to be soft on the planet: the banquette and booths are all reupholstered existing pieces, the tiles were brought in from a previous project and the natural stone used for the bar top was ethically sourced. An excellent reminder that West Coast cool is best captured when it’s also renewable.
