South of Fish Creek used to be a culinary dry spot...until Starbelly opened up.
It’s not often that you’ll eat dinner near Cranston unless you happen to live near Cranston, but in the last little while there’ve been some whispers that there was a destination spot in the city’s deep south that was worth a drive for non-southeasterners. We dispatched our Calgary City Editor Karen Ashbee (a die-hard inner-city resident) to suss it out and not only did Starbelly get the the thumbs for its no-pretence family-style fare, but she was even able to shake a recipe out of Chef Jonathan Sobol—a perfect Chicken Liver Parfait that perfectly captures the room’s blend of comfort and elegance.Click here for recipe.
