Merit Kitchens creates timeless spaces and enhances living areas with custom quality cabinetry.
Since 1971, Merit Kitchens has brought expert designs and quality craftsmanship to thousands of homes, making them feel brighter and more beautiful. The company specializes in creating personalized cabinetry to fit the individual styles of every homeowner and works hard to ensure quality people make up their large network of authorized dealers.
Whether for a new build or a remodel, Merit provides quality cabinetry built to last generations and creates a unified feel throughout the home. That quality is showcased in this home located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, designed by Merit’s award-winning authorized dealer, Luxe Kitchens.
Merit’s customizable cabinet colour, style and finishings elevate the look and feel of the home—a perfect example of how identical door style and finishings, but in different colours, can create a cohesive feel throughout different rooms and appeal to both tastes of the homeowners and their combined lifestyle must-haves.
The choice to use a light, warm wood stain makes one side of the kitchen feel like its own space. But on the adjacent wall, the design features a two-tone kitchen style that gives the space more dimension. It features wall cabinets with glass cabinetry in the Nougat colour that appears in other rooms, as well. The dark stain under the island adds an additional layer of contrast that works with the design.
The Nougat colour reappears in the living room with the same cabinet style as the kitchen, creating a uniform look. Adding white oak shelves under the arches breaks up what would otherwise be a monotone feel of a uniformly painted space.
You can add more depth to rooms that typically have a cold feel, like laundry rooms, by using dark tones. Dark-stained cabinets make functional rooms more visually appealing.
Merit understands the value that an attractive walk-in closet can add to a home, which is why it offers cabinetry with a polished and luxurious finish designed for practical use, like storing our clothes and personal accessories. Once again, the shaker style of cabinets is used in the closet, but in a bright white, bringing a light and open feel to the utilitarian function of a closet space while simultaneously adhering to the flow between rooms and throughout the home.
With decades of experience, Merit understands what makes a home functional and beautiful. It has one of the most extensive colour and style libraries in custom manufacturing companies plus a new colour collection just released, making their standard library the best in made-to-order cabinetry. Its network of expert designers help guide customers through the cabinetry selection process every step of the way and ensures each kitchen remodel project is timeless yet unique to individualized style expression.
If you’d like to view Merit Kitchens’ new colour collection in person, contact a dealer near you and book an initial in-home consultation or a visit to the showroom. Showrooms vary by dealer but are sure to showcase several different kitchen and bathroom styles, from contemporary and transitional to classic and modern designs.
Merit Kitchens offers mid to high-end cabinetry products, which come with their own fantastic warranties, but just as Merit’s designs stand the test of time, so, too, do their cabinets. Merit cabinets designed 30 or 40 years ago remain as functional and beautiful as ever. The company still gets calls to replace a loosened hinge or a water damaged cabinet from kitchens built in the 1980s and can see first hand the endurance and durability of Merit cabinets.
See for yourself how Merit’s expertise translates into your dream space and view its selection in person.
