Winter-adventure lovers and powder hounds, this exhibition is for you.
In what sounds like the most Canadian of trade shows, the first ever Roam Winter Expo is set to bring tour companies, snow sport outfitters, health and fitness experts—presenting interactive features to immerse visitors in all-things winter—to the Vancouver Convention Centre October 17 and 18.Here’s a preview of the pre-season fun:
With a full two-day schedule of featured speakers and stage demonstrations, you’ll get a chance to hear from professional athletes and travel experts on everything from iPhoneography 101 to winter surfing in Tofino. The stage will also host the first public screening of In Motion, an adventure-based snowboarding film starring Mark McMorris and friends, where one audience member will win a Burton snowboard autographed by Mark and Craig McMorris. Sean Pettit, professional freeskier and film producer, will also be introducing and sharing exclusive footage from his ski film and thriller, The Masquerade, shot entirely via iPhone.
Keighty Gallagher (Tight Club creator and fitness trainer) and Jazz Braden (yoga instructor and Lululemon ambassador) are teaming up with other fitness experts to provide free fitness classes for all willing participants on a first come basis—get there early!
Exploring the show with young progeny? Burton is going to set up something special to keep the kids entertained. In the kid zone snowboards will be outfitted with riglet wheels, which will keep young ones busy while teaching balance and control, giving them confidence on a board before hitting the slopes.
The Canadian Ski Patrol will be organizing a ski-and-board focused sale with new and gently used items to buy and sell.
Postmark Brewing, Parallel 49 and Stanley Park Brewing will also be in attendance providing local craft beer for thirsty attendees.
When: October 17 and 18Where: Vancouver Convention CentreTickets: Range from $10 to $15 per day. Available at RoamExpo.com and will also be available at the box office on the day of the event.
