Indulge your sweet tooth for a good cause at Faubourg Paris.
We know we already posted about macarons this week, but we’ve got the petite treats on our minds lately because Macaron Day is just around the corner. (But you probably knew that from the Macaron Day carollers that are roaming the streets.) (Photo: Faubourg.)We don’t know what sort of sugar-high governing body declared Sunday, March 20, to be a day that celebrates the world’s most Instagrammable pastry, but we’re not ones to argue…especially when stocking up on these beautiful meringue-and-ganache sandwiches benefits a great cause. You’ll find shops all over Vancouver, for the fifth year in a row, celebrating France’s prettiest treats with donations to great causes. (Photo: Faubourg.)Faubourg Paris, for one, is selling signature macarons for $1 a piece, with all proceeds going to the BC Cancer Foundation. Owner Franck Point will also be matching the donation, dollar for dollar (last year, the bakery donated $14,000!), so if this isn’t an excellent excuse to grab a sleeve or five of these crispy, delicate Parisian-style treasures, we don’t know what is.
